The Main House

Welcome to Cedar Grove

The exterior of Cedar Grove has not changed much since the days of Absalom Sharp.  A drawing of the home, done in the mid-1800's, highly resembles what you'll see today as you come through the gas-lit gates.

The home was designated as such in the will of the original owners of Cedar Grove in the memory of their three boys who had all perished before the age of three.

Upon entering the front door, one sees the foyer and stairway.  Doorways lead to the kitchen and the parlor.

Of great interest is the spiral stairway in another main floor room; a sort of "side entrance" to what was the ballroom.

The first floor also holds the dining room and a study.
